A week has flown by in Finland and we have all adjusted pretty nicely. Jon takes Eve to daycare in the morning and then heads off to work. I get to stay home and decide how to spend my day. Most of the time has been spent running errands or going to Jon's office to try and set up this or that. Our last big decision is to stay in our current apartment or move to a smaller one. Our current apartment is large but rather run down. It also has that grimy feel of an apartment that never has had a long term renter. The stove is a story unto itself.
The smaller apartment is in a better neighborhood and building but just smaller. The bedrooms are not ideal since Eve would have to take the larger one since it is father away from the living room and tv. We also don't have a washing machine in our apartment and they would have to move in a mini-freezer. So it's not a slam dunk either way. But right now, looking out the window over the balcony, I can see downtown Tampere and can't imagine losing the view.
